NCA Coffee Training Videos
NCA offers two (2) new video presentations covering Coffee Agronomy and Coffee Roasting. Both videos are available in a QuickTime multimedia file format. These videos will be a valuable tool in any employee training program. Produced in documentary style, the videos concisely and entertainingly relate the fundamental aspects of agronomy and roasting.
In the Coffee Roasting video, the roasting process is brought to life through the eyes of two small regional roasters in the Northwest. The video review the fundamental steps in the roasting process that are common to all roasters. Topics include choosing and buying the beans, testing the bean, cupping, the roasting process, roast types and packing & freshness. (runtime 10:04 min)
In the Coffee Agronomy video, we travel to the countries of origin to discover the source of coffee. Through lush imagery from coffee growing regions around the world, the story of coffee agronomy is told. Topics covered in this video include defining species and variety, history or the coffee plant, factors that effect taste, cultivar, factors that affect the yield, wet v. dry processing methods, and traceability.
