An important part of each NCA Annual Convention is giving back to the community in the host city. This year, the Coffee Gives Back Day of Service will find industry volunteers working with the Salvation Army at three of its outreach programs for San Franciscans in need. At its Family Service Center, volunteers will prepare clothing donated by corporate sponsors to create a viable and dignified “shopping experience” for the clientele. Volunteers at the organization’s Harbor Light Center will whip up hundreds of sandwiches for distribution by its outreach team to the city’s hungry. And, at the Adult Rehabilitation Center, volunteers will help sort, stock, display, rotate, and repackage Family Store items that help support the facility’s live-in clients. Please note that volunteers must register for this free and rewarding experience. Only registered Convention attendees may participate. Time: Thursday, March 21, 2013 12:45 PM – 4:30 PM. Transportation provided and buses will depart at the Jesse Street entrance of the hotel promptly at 12:45 pm. Place: Off-Site -- The Salvation Army Dress: Casual and closed toed shoes are suggested Food: A box lunch will be served. |
